MADE IN GERMANY
The “made in Germany” seal of quality not only applies to the product development side
of the business but, for the overwhelming majority of products, also to the manufacturing side: the
designs created by the beyerdynamic engineers and designers in Heilbronn are subsequently crafted,
largely by hand, by around 300 highly qualified employees in Germany.
MANUFAKTUR - EVERYONE IS UNIQUE
The high degree of manual craftsmanship involved enables special quality standards
to be achieved. It also has the added advantage of making the manufacturing process very flexible.
Small production runs, single-unit production runs and special requests are therefore always
possible. Regardless of whether it involves a set of headphones or a conference system, for delivery
in Germany or abroad, customized production in line with customers’ specific requirements is an area
in which the company excels – and a strength that the audio specialist knows exactly how to use, for
example, with beyerdynamic MANUFAKTUR.
THE ONLINE CONFIGURATOR - MADE FOR PERFECTIONISTS
The online shop added a new feature in 2005 making it possible to customize audio products.
MANUFAKTUR customers can configure and order their own personalized MMX 300 gaming headset or DT 880
Edition or DT 990 Edition headphones online. And just a few days later their customized product is
delivered to their front door. These are unique one-off pieces for anyone who doesn’t want a pair of
“off-the-rack” headphones but something more personal to them.
ONLINE PRINT - IT COULD NOT BE MORE UNIQUE
The online MANUFAKTUR service is constantly being expanded. Since the summer of
2019, for example, customers can even have all types of images and graphics printed and placed on
their preferred headphones. The world’s first ever crowdsourcing design competition for headphones
is a prime example of just how quickly and flexibly beyerdynamic responds to customers’ wishes: in
2013, the company asked music fans to design their own personal CUSTOM ONE PRO headphones online and
got the online community to vote on thousands of entries. The most popular designs were then
constructed as special-edition headphones in Heilbronn.
